Day 1 – Arrival and First Wildlife Encounters
- Pick-up at Pangkalan Bun Airport or hotel by your guide.
- Drive about 20 minutes to Kumai harbor and board your Klotok houseboat.
- Begin cruising along the Sekonyer River, enjoying lunch onboard.
- Visit Tanjung Harapan Camp in the afternoon (3:00 PM feeding time) for your first orangutan encounter.
- Evening boat ride to spot proboscis monkeys and hornbills along the riverbanks.
- Dinner and overnight stay on the Klotok, under mosquito-netted beds with jungle sounds all around.
Day 2 – Pondok Tanggui & Camp Leakey
- Breakfast on the boat with a view of the rainforest.
- Morning visit to Pondok Tanggui (9:00 AM feeding station) to see young orangutans in rehabilitation.
- Return to the Klotok for a river cruise upstream.
- Lunch served onboard.
- Afternoon at Camp Leakey (2:00 PM feeding time) – the most famous orangutan research center, founded by Dr. Biruté Galdikas.
- Explore the small museum and learn about orangutan conservation projects.
- Evening dinner onboard. The Klotok anchors near Pondok Ambung.
- Optional night trek to see glowing fungi, owls, tarantulas, and nocturnal wildlife.
- Overnight on the Klotok.
Day 3 – Exploring Deeper into the Park
- Morning coffee and breakfast while cruising further up the river.
- Trekking and wildlife exploration around Pondok Ambung or a second visit to your preferred camp (Tanjung harapan camp).
- Picnic-style lunch in nature or onboard the Klotok.
- Afternoon cruise with chances to see macaques, gibbons, and colorful bird species.
- Relax on the deck as the sun sets over the rainforest.
- Dinner and overnight stay on the Klotok, enjoying the serene jungle atmosphere.
Day 4 – Return and Cultural Experience
- Breakfast while cruising back down the Sekonyer River.
- Disembark at Kumai harbor
- Transfer to your hotel or Pangkalan Bun Airport for your onward journey.
